New review

A very pleasing review of TWID at Shelfabuse!

In its honour here's a piece of unadulterated Delia Smith artwork from the book. She was very difficult to get anywhere near right, if anyone stumbled on my drawing board of failed attempts it would have looked decidedly dodgy. I don't want to blow my own trumpet here but I think this is the next Mona Lisa, but with a stew.

Thanks again to Kevin at Tabella for his continued efforts in getting reviews etc. They've also got plenty of new titles out.

March Geoscientist

Here's the March effort, the last frame was inspired by a fine book I read called 'The Earth after Us', based on the idea of how future fossils may be preserved. And the first frame, well, it's got Bill Oddie in, so hopefully at least mildly amusing. I'm very dissapointed, with myself, to say that there will be no April Geoscientist. I got sick of starting at 4 empty frames. Will do better for May.

A powerful scene

Purchased the entire Age of Apocalypse series late last year. Cost a few spond but it was worth it as a trip down memory lane. I tend to favour non hero indy stuff these days, but I was pleased to see this powerful scene depicting the death of Mr Sinister (he's a bad guy don't you know) while working my way through them. I just love the layout of the page, the zoom out and the way Sinister suddenly looks so frail and possibly afraid.

What I've been up to

To keep myself busy, and mostly sane, while househunting I've been on working on some cartoon obituaries. There are 8 samples on ebook, click the image at the right if you fancy a look. They are from the fictional newspaper The Daily Atomiser. While dealing with administrative stuff I've not been up to doing a 'proper' comic story.

I'm planning on doing about 30, and to sell at Thought Bubble later this year. If you fancy contributing please feel free to email me with submissions.

Too many birds

Alright. Project Bittern is not going very well. My mates, who also made the same resolution to see a Bittern this year, have seen one on two separate occasions. I just can't understand why I've not seen one, it can't be anything to do with the fact I've not been to Leighton Moss to look for them, it's just not fair.

By the same token, I've not seen any of the birds pictured, they are les oiseaux de Quebec, and I've never been to Quebec...
