The Lost Disks of SAM

Well I'm thoroughly chuffed to say that blackjet have written a conversion of my ZX Spectrum game for the SAM Coupe; THE LOST DISKS OF SAM.  It bears most resemblance to 'TAPES OF ALBION' but also bits of EFMB, plus extra stuff.

It's an absolute treat, and I'm annoyed to say looks & plays better that mine.

It can be downloaded here, and the SIMCoupe emulator here.

I don't know a lot about the SAM Coupe, but I gather it's essentially a hugely beefed up version of the ZX-Spectrum.  So it's still an 8 bit, similar processor but has more memory, higher colour resolution and more.  I was suprised to discover the SAM is a British computer, as the car like appearance and name screamed USA!USA! at me.

Thanks for this guys.

  1. Thank you Dave for such a fun and unique game! We had a great time making and testing the Sam version. We are looking at possibly making an Amiga version sometime soon.

  2. Hi Jaco,

The pleasure is all mine! I'm still playing, though so far have only completed on (inverted commas exaggerated) 'easy' :-D.

I'm astounded by the speed this was done in, I know the ups and downs involved in designing and coding, so I hope it was more of the former than the latter.

I'm mostly a speccy chap, but as the Amiga was the first computer I could call my own I would absolutely love to see it tranferred!
