The key to cronic overeating at christmas is getting match fit beforehand.

October: increase calorific input, try small introductions of sugar and purine rich foods to get the gastric juices primed.

November: increase sherry consumption. Eat a sack of fudge. Start buying 'eat me' dates.

December: Should be able to cope with 3000 calories per day. by ~18th December you should be able to eat through that difficult 'gag reflex' boundary without hurling.
